Lochs Glens and Benns

Welcome to Hooked on Walking and our lovely circular walking holiday in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. The tour is available as a self led walk which can be started on any day of the week. The terms Lochs Glens and Benns are great Scottish words for great scenic landmarks. Lochs we would know as Lakes , Glens we would know as Valleys and Benns is a term given to mountain up to a certain height. Our fabulous circular walk is in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park which is Scotland’s first National Park  which was officially opened in 2003. Loch Lomond is probably one of the most famous Lochs in Scotland ( after Loch Ness ) and the surrounding area to the East of this loch is the region of the Trossachs. The Trossachs region to the east of the National Park is the so called ‘ Rob Roy McGregor ‘ country. Rob Roy a so called Local Hero in some historians eyes and a villain in others as he roamed the Trossachs countryside as a cattle rustler. He was a kind of Scottish Robin Hood taking from the rich and giving to the poor.  He is buried only a short distance from our route. The region also has many great Lochs , Venachar , Lubnaig , Earn , Tay , Katrine , Achray to name a few. You will see fabulous views of Scottish hills and mountains ( known as Ben’s ) glistening in the crystal clear Lochs.

Available April to September
