Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive at Edinburgh , Glasgow or Prestwick airports and pick up your car. Drive to your first nights stay just outside Edinburgh but convenient to access to the city.

Day 2

Your first day exploring the city of Edinburgh. Much to see and do - follow one of our walking guides around the old or new town , visit the castle , Royal Mile , Palace and Cathedral.. Have lunch in a trendy bar or old fashioned pub. Take the open top bus tour and get a grand overview of the city.  We provide all the details of places to see in the city to allow you to plan your days visit.

Day 3 onwards

Your tour now generally follows the red route on the map for the 7 night holiday allowing you plenty of time to visit places on route and soak up the Scottish atmosphere or try some activities. The general route takes you into the historic Scottish Borders , this region has history on its every corner. During centuries of conflict between England and Scotland  which is very sparsely populated per square mile, an abundance of Castles were built, Abbeys and Stately homes followed shortly afterwards. Famous Architects ( such as Adam the famous ornate plasterer ), grand furniture by Chippendale, can all be found in these great homes.

After your visit to the borders you head southwest to the mild climate of Dumfires and Galloway. Famous for its little villages all pastel painted and its wonderful Solway coastline. Lastly we head up the west coast to visit the Isle of Arran often known as Scotland in Miniature due to its landscape which seems to encompass all of Scotland.  The optional extensions, indicated blue on the map, are used for longer stay holidays where more time is available to travel further up the west coast through Argyll and the wonderful west coast.
